Moving in for a long stay is nothing like packing a suitcase for a few days away. Getting the preparation right from the start helps you settle into a routine quickly and saves you repeated trips out for odds and ends.
Documents and formalities
Bring the personal documents you need for check-in and for temporary residence registration as required by law. For a long-term contract, ask in advance which papers are needed so you can handle it all in one go.
Personal items you are used to
Serviced apartments normally come furnished with the basics. All you need to add are the personal things you are attached to: your own pillow, your toiletries, a few pieces that make the place feel more like home.
If you plan to cook
Ask ahead about the kitchen: hob, fridge, pots and pans, basic utensils. Knowing exactly what is already there means you only top up what is missing, instead of buying duplicates.
